Skyfall Opening Credits (HD)

Daniel Craig's name comes up first up first in the middle of the screen. This is because he is the most recognised character and therefore putting his name on first in the middle of the screen means that the audience isn't going to miss his name. Ian Fleming's name then comes up who directed the film and is also known for directing the Bond films. Then the rest of the credits come up on the side of the screen showing that they are not as significant. Then Judi Dench's name comes up in the middle of the screen, this shows that she is also a important recognised character.  Only a few of the remainder of the credits come up on their own on the screen showing that they are not as important as the previous credits. This is until the name Sam Mendes comes up on the screen who directed the film, this was the final credit showed as well making it significant.

Order of credits -Psycho

Alfred Hitchcock's name comes up first on his own. Alfred Hitchcock is well known to be,"The Master of Suspense". His names comes up first so the audience recognizes a name straight away to keep them enticed. The next credit that comes up is Anthony Perkins who is acting in the film. Anthony Perkins name comes up along with Vera Miles and John Gavin at the same text size and duration as Hitchcock's name which shows that they are equally as important in the film. Next comes the credits for the co staring which include Martin Balsam and John McIntyre. The text has become smaller now which tells the audience that these are not the big names.

The sequence opens with the production company and other stuff like that and then we move onto the characters where Robert Di Nero, Val Kilmer and Al Pacino come up on the same page first, this signifies that these characters are the most well known because they are presented to us as an audience first. After the Al Pacino, Val Kilmer and Robert Di Nero text comes up we change to a different shot, the next names obviously are not as significant as they are presented after, they are all presented a couple of seconds after the previous credit with the same type of text and the same size text. This is boring for the audience to watch as it is so repetitive. Boring the audience at this stage of the film is not a good idea as this is the first thing you show them and if they don't like then the audience may not even watch the rest of the film.

Actual filming day

The day before the shoot  day we didn't need to prepare anything because we were well prepared for a while, and it would be hard for us to prepare because we only need two actors that we already had sorted out, a log which we could find easily in the forest and then a camera and a tripod that we would collect on the day. The morning of the shoot i woke up and felt great not only was i missing lessons but i also got to go out of school for the day to do some filming. When we arrived for the shoot we were very well prepared all we had to was just to find the right place in the Forrest for each scene which took us barely 5 minutes each time. The location where we were filming was perfect, the weather was just right as well, there was some slight rain that increased as the filming went on. On the camera day Ben was mainly the camera man and Grace Ksenia and I did a bit of filming as well as long as making sure about the continuity of the shots and finding the best places for locations. Personally i thought i reminded the group about the shots that we wanted instead of getting carried away with new shots quite well. On the shoot day we dint have many major problems because as a group we get on well and respect each others decisions and roles, if there was a problem it would probably be how the weather changed so quickly for raining to being quite sunny so the end result may not look as good. i thought the most successful part of the day was getting all the shots we wanted in a quick space of time that we still had some spare time to get some new shots to see what they look like. After lunch we walked around a fair amount to find a new location which was quite annoying as it was wasting valuable filming time, but luckily we had got all the vital shots needed.When it comes to editing i am looking most forward to is the different range of shots and the great acting. I think the production group worked really well as a team. I learned the lesson that on a filming day you should turn up organized like we did.

Casper (the murderer)

This character needs to look smart and unlikely to be a murderer. Therefore we have chosen to dress him in clothes that will make him appear neat and stylish.
Firstly we have decided that Casper will wear glasses. This immediately bringing the connotations that this boy is smart and sophisticated. These glasses will make him look less like a murderer and instead a clever and pleasant mannered teenager. This will make the murder a more surprising and engaging story.

Casper needs to look plain yet stylish therefore we have chosen to dress him in a simple red jumper and black jeans. This is fashionable yet not too eye catching, making him appear a normal teenager. This will also contrast with the green of the forrest and make hims stand out.








Casper will wear standard trainers on his feet. They will barely be seen in the shots, but they suit the outfit, incase they do come into frame, and are appropriate for our actor when filming as he will be running most of the day.We have also chosen to give him a scarf. This is fashionable and will contribute to the impression that this boy is not mean or defiant. It should also suggest that this boy is not capable of an act of murder, making it more surprising when it is revealed to the audience, that he has in fact just killed someone. The scarf should also look very cinematic, waving in the wind as he runs. and finally it will be very cold when we film so he needs something to keep warm...

 (Accidental Murder Scene)

I saw this sequence in a movie I recently watched which features a scenario very similar to the one in my thriller. This accidental murder is what will happen in my thriller however will be shown with no dialogue and in a serious of short flashbacks. This is what happens: Boy 2 provokes boy 1, thinking that he wont fight back, but he takes it so far that boy 1 explodes with anger and does fight back in an extreme sense. Hurt badly, Boy 2 goes crazy trying to kill boy 1 until boy 1 has no choice but to use a weapon to kill boy 2.

This build up of anger between the two characters, is required from my actors to display how this boy has been led to commit murder. I need two very good actors that can make this scenario appear real, If the on screen events are believable then the audience will feel more engaged and connected with the characters.

I hope for my flashback sequence to look like this. Here are the key moments I intend to focus on:

The first flashback shows the moment where boy 2 provokes boy 1. This is what it should look like however set in a forest of course. Boy 2 will shout at boy 1, slapping him around like he is worthless and pathetic. We will see the anger building in boy 1 as he does this. Boy 2 here shows his dominance by standing above boy 1 and looking down on him. I intend to do this also to show who is in control of the situation.

This will be the second flashback showing the point where boy 1 is pushed to the limit. After boy 2 mocks him, he makes a drastic move in an outburst of anger. In this clip he hits him with an oar from the boat, in my thriller boy 1 will grab boy 2 and punch him in the face. This will be the turning point in the flashback sequence where the serious violence really begins, and the audience now begin to presume that this is going to end badly.

In the third flashback, boy 2 who is injured from the punch will fight back, between them there will be a great struggle. Here boy 1 will be defending himself as boy 2 goes crazy trying to fight back at boy 1 for punching him in the face. These shots will be very shaky and cut fast creating an intense sense of danger and struggle.

This will be the fourth flashback. Here the two will be mid fight. Boy 1 will be frantically trying to defend himself from boy 2 as he uncontrollably attacks him. Blood from boy 2's punch wound should drip onto boy 1's face. Boy 2's expression will be filled with intense anger and adrenaline. Boy 1 will show fear and panic. After a few seconds of struggle boy 1 will manage to push boy 2 away from him into a tree.

In the final flashback the final murder will be shown. after pushing away boy 2, boy 1 will quickly stand up. As boy 2 crazily lunges towards him from his knees. Boy 1 will grab a log and swing it at boy 2, uppercutting him and killing him. The screen will cut to black a split second after this has happened and we see some blood fly close past the lens.
